Last night our 10 year old Great Dane, Jasmin crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We will miss her terribly & it just won't be the same sleeping at night without 165 extra pounds lying across our legs.
This past January/February Jasmin started to have some kind of neurological deficits in her hind end. As some of you may remember she was first diagnosed with a ruptured ACL in her left knee, then a possible Osterosarcoma -all of which turned out to be negative but she still had lameness. Over the months she would wax and wane with difficulty controlling her back legs. After many many months of doctor visits, medications, massage, acupuncture and chiropractic care we watched as Jasmin did not improve and for the past few months she would sit on her dog bed for the entire day and not get up unless we helped her. Jasmin used to love hunting down/stalking the squirrels and ducks in our back yard, now she just sat and watched.
She is no longer suffering but we will continue to feel the pain of this loss.
Jasmin has joined Dane at the Rainbow Bridge.
We are also sad to think Moose our other 10 year old Great Dane will be lonely without her.
Here are a few pictures of our girl. *You can click on the pictures for a larger view.
