1st storm passed without problems

We are in hurrican season here in Florida and this week the first threatening storm passed us bye. Hurricane, no tropical depression no wait tropical storm, might turn back into a hurricane ....whatever! This storm was to undecided as to what it was going to be. "Ernesto" as it was named gave us a few rain drops and no wind, thankfully. Atleast this gave everyone a chance to get stocked up on their hurricane supplies in advance. Hurricane season lasts until November. I certinally have enough bottled water now. You can never be too careful when it comes to mother nature I say. Today it's sunny but tomorrow you just never know. This is the time of year when everyday you check the National Weather Service web site. Not much else to report as we are approaching the 3 month anniversary of our LID. Wait, Wait and more waiting. Here is the storm as of today.

Flat Ladybug joins the fire department

OK, well just for the day.

Flat Ladybug spent today on my ambulance and even got to ride on the fire truck. Mostly she stayed in the back of the ambulance and kept an eye on all our patients.
She learned the importance of moving out of the way when an emergency vehicle approaches with lights & sirens and to always wear a seatbelt! She learned that one the hard way....we have to stop short sometimes and oops....but she is ok now.
We had fun, she is quite the attention getter. Over the weekend she offered to help remodel the bathroom with Gordon, what a busy little bugger she is.
Next week it will be time for her to leave us and she will venture out to Melissa's house in Greenwood, IN. She has a lot of traveling to do over the next year.

Flat Ladybug is HERE !!!!!!

Today I received "Flat Ladybug". She jumped right on Jasmin's back & is ready to go.
For those not familar this is an item that our Yahoo group for adoption has created. We are called the "May Magpies" and all of our Dossiers were sent to China in the month of May. This ladybug has been laminated and will be sent to each member of our group during the course of our wait. "FL" (flat ladybug) will spend a day w/me tomorrow working on a ambulance and fire truck....hope she is ready for that. Click here to have a peak at where she has already been on her first day.
Melissa H gets her next!!!!

1st bikini

I broke down and bought Mia her 1st bikini. This is something I have been looking at for the past 3 weeks & tonight I just couldn't resist. It's big so she won't be in it anytime soon but it was too cute to pass up again! Look at the back of the bottoms-cute!

Gifts from Gail

Sunday one of my mother's good friends came by to visit us and she brought Mia a gift. Gail lives in Rhode Island & Florida and I get to see her once a year. It's nice to continue the bond that she and my mother had. Isn't this dress cute? and with a matching hat too!

Kitchen disaster

This weekend my friend "surgery Barb" was over and we were in the kitchen while I was cooking dinner. When I went to take out the roasting pan from the double oven (on the wall) the door totally broke off while it was fully extended open. It was like slow motion @ 400 degrees! There was absolutely nothing I could do to catch it so BAM ! on the floor it went. Dogs went running, glass was flying and we were just in shock, then my husband broke out in laughter because we just finished putting up all the new cabinet doors about 5 hours earlier. Glad he was in the room too when it happened 'cause he wouldn't have believed me. Great now another 2 months with a hole in the wall...it will take DeSears atleast that long to replace it.
*I still have 2 more ovens to use*

How long can you hold your breath

You girls can relate to this one........can you say Feeling BLOATED!

Gifts from Joy

Today Joy (my niece) returned from her 2nd home in Slidell, Louisiana (long story-will explain at a much later date) and brought a few gifts with her for baby Mia.
How adorable-cute little pink clogs (Mommy always wears clogs) and a "got MIlk" blanket, bib and burp cloth. Mia is going to be spoiled I think.
